Hello there and we hope you are all having a great Summer so far. We know we are and have been to France, Sicily, Sweden, Spain and Ireland as well as all over the UK in the past couple of months alone so read on for the latest news and some upcoming happenings!
In Full Swing at the Royal Albert Hall 3,996.74
Friday the 9th July was a one night only experience as The Royal Albert Hall invited everyone to put on their dancing shoes and join them for the swing party of the Summer for "In Full Swing".
It was an historical night with the Hall’s arena floor transformed into London’s greatest dance floor to create the largest swing and jive night that the capital has seen since the swing era. A stunning 5,000 square foot parquet oak dance floor was installed over the magnificent ornate exhibition floor to provide more than ample room for the 1400 dancers to move to the best swing, jive, jitterbug and lindy hop tunes.
The Jive Aces who headlined the night also introduced a surprise guest performer, Rebecca Grant, better known for her part in TV hospital drama Holby City, and swing dancers G.I. Jive making a night of high energy and vintage glamour.
Supporting the Jive Aces were two more great bands, Top Shelf Jazz followed by the Back to Basie Orchestra along with dance displays given by Scott Cupit and his Swing Patrol dancers, Simon Selmon and London Swing Dance Society, Joseph & Tricia with their SwingJive.com troupe and Robert and Claire Austin with the Hollywood Hoppers. DJ for the night was Tim Hellzapoppin with James Horada MCing.
Was this event the beginning of a new swing trend at the Royal Albert Hall? We certainly do hope so!
The 1st August saw the best ever Summertime Swing held at Saint Hill Manor in East Grinstead. The weather was great and we were thrilled to share the stage with so many great performers including Keely Smith, Kenny Ball, Chas McDevitt, Keith Ball, Toni Elizabeth Prima, Rebecca Grant, The Swing Kids, DJ and MC Terry Elliott, guest DJ Nick Kirby and lindy hoppers Benny and Jen all the way from Hollywood CA!
The money raised from the day will be going to The Mayor of East Grinstead and the Mayor of Crowborough's chosen charities. A big thanks to all the performers who took part and anyone that helped organise or promote the event in any way.

Louis Prima Centenary
Some of you may know that this year marks the centenary of one of the Jive Aces' greatest musical heroes, Louis Prima.
To celebrate this we have embarked on a very special project including some brand new recordings of Louis Prima classics featuring both the legendary Keely Smith and Louis and Keely's daughter, Toni Elizabeth Prima. We've also written a brand new song in honour of Louis and Keely and the mixes are sounding great!
We are also putting together a mini documentary about the legacy of Louis Prima's music including some very familiar faces and the first interview is already "in the can". You'd be surprised at the sheer number and different types of artists that Louis Prima has positively influenced through his music.
